President- Don Rios

    Sgt. Don Rios started with TCSO on April 12th, 1992 and just went over 31 years with TCSO. He started as a Correction Officer in Building 1. He attended the first TCSO Basic Peace Office Course working 5 years on patrol and was selected to be a Field Training Officer. Don went into the Misdemeanor Warrant Unit were he cleared up hundreds of misdemeanor warrants before being selected to move to the Special Weapons and Tactics unit (SWAT).  While assigned to SWAT, he became one of two Team Leaders and was deployed on over 100 missions. Don promoted to Detective and eventually went to the Child Abuse Unit where he investigated crimes against children.  Don also served as the Team Leader of the Crisis Negotiation Team, where he led the team to a first-place finish in a multistate competition.  As a Patrol Sgt, Don has worked West Evenings, East Midnights and was assigned to the Special Response Team (SRT).  Don spent over 5 years as the Lake Patrol Sgt, where he also supervised the Sheriff’s Underwater Recovery Team (SURT).  Sgt Rios then moved over to the Highway Enforcement Team (HEAT) where he also supervised the Driving While Intoxicated Unit (DWI) , the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit (CVE) and the Leaving the Scene investigations (LTS).  Currently he supervises the Highway Enforcement Accident Team and oversees the security for all Travis County Elections. He has represented TCSO employees for over 20 years as a board member. 

Vice President- Jermaine Smith

 

Started in 2009 as a security coordinator, promoted to officer in 2010 deputize in 2012 and now promoted to SGT of the Hospital Visitation Unit. I was a board member for two before becoming Vice President. I enjoy basketball, golf, chess, and listening to jazz. I am proud to be elected to this board and will continue to be in the corner of all our members. "The best gifts are attained on the other side of fear" 

2nd Vice President- Laura Mabry

Laura Mabry has been with the Sheriff’s Office for almost 18 years.  She started her career as a Correction Officer and then attended BPOC 14 before beginning her law enforcement career.  Laura spent the majority of her time working East Night shift.  She also spent several years working in the Community Outreach Unit.  She is very proud of her work with the Explorer Program.  Laura promoted to Detective in 2017.  As a Detective, she worked in the Peron’s Crime Unit on a variety of cases including Robberies, Stalking, and Aggravated Assaults.  Laura promoted to Sergeant in 2020 and was assigned to West Day Shift Patrol.   She eventually found her way back to the Criminal Investigations Division, where she currently supervises Financial Crimes, the Intelligence Unit, Sex offender Registration and several other positions.  Laura has also been a member of the Hostage Negotiations team for over 8 years and was just recently selected to lead the team as Sergeant. 

Laura is married and has two boys ages 8 and 12.  She loves being a boy mom, her family is incredibly important to her. She is self-confessed Peloton obsessed and enjoys spending time with her two dogs. Laura grew up in north Austin graduated from Connally High School and attended Texas Tech University.  She loves live music, traveling and college sports, but the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes hold an extra special place in her heart.

 Started with TCSO in 2015. I have worked in Bldg3, Bldg12, HVU, and Courthouse. Currently assigned as a Deputy Bailiff working along side Judge Leon Grizzard. I completed Travis County BPOC#19 in 2017. I enjoy weekend trips to Driftwood and my 3 crazy pups; Luke, Tucker, and Maya.

LE Rep East- Neil Reilly

Neil Reilly started with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office as a corrections officer in January, 2010. Neil graduated as Class President and Valedictorian of C.O.B.R.A. 55 and began working in Building 12. In 2011, Neil’s Marine reserve unit was activated and deployed to Afghanistan. Upon returning, Neil was transferred to Building 1 where he worked as an FTO and simultaneously attended B.P.O.C. 17. In 2015, Neil transferred to Courthouse Security before moving to patrol in 2016. Neil has worked mainly on East Patrol Evenings and Nights. Neil was a patrol FTO prior to moving to his current position as a K9 handler with his partner Bodie.

Deputy Bailiff County Court at Law #6. Serving TCSO since 1999. Worked various Del Valle assignments to include Food Service. He is a volunteer for PALS (Pets Assisting the Lives of Seniors), delivers pet food, supplies, and transports pets to and from vet appointments.

CO Rep- Adrian Gonzalez 

I am Adrian Gonzalez, born and raised in Austin TX. I have been with TCSO  for 9 years.  I started as a direct report to COBRA 78.  After completing COBRA , I was assigned to Building 12 for 2 years, CTAC for 2 years and am now going on 5 years in the Prisoner Transportation unit. During my time off, I enjoy spending time with my girls (Wife and 3 daughters). I also love riding my motorcycle and home remodeling projects; any chance I get to learn a new trade I take it.

Employed with TCSO For 12 Years. I Worked Bldg 12, Booking C-Shift as FTO, Courthouse as FTO, K9, and now Courthouse again. I like history, reading, playing video games, and spending time with my son.
